Louis Chenevert – A Leader in the Field of Technology

Louis Chenevert is a Canadian businessman who has grown to be one of the most influential professionals in the world. Louis is a native of Quebec, Canada, who attended HEC Montreal, a business school of the University of Montreal. At this University, he graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Production Management. This degree led Louis to become the successful business professional that he is. He joined General Motors in 1979 and served as the Production General Manager. This position lasted for 14 years until he joined Pratt & Whitney Canada. Louis became the president of this company in 1999. This position lasted until 2006.

In 2006, Louis Chenevert joined United Technologies Corp. He was first elected as Chairman of the company. Later on, he eventually became the Chief Executive Officer and President of United Technologies. Louis’ role at the company was vital to their success. His focus and skills led him to make big decisions that grew United Technologies into the company that it is today.

One of Louis’ biggest achievements at United Technologies Corp. was the huge share price increase. With his help, the share price had an immense increase of almost 200 percent. This led the company to be noted as one of the most profitable companies in the U.S. Along with this, Louis made an impressive business deal. He obtained Goodrich Corp. for $16.3 million. This deal has been named as one the biggest aerospace deals in history. The purchase of Goodrich Corp. allowed United Technologies to expand to another level.

Louis’ success with United Technologies was due to his understanding of investment in high-quality, innovative products. This understanding was vital in order to make sure that he was making logical decisions that will have a positive outcome. With his knowledge, skills, and talent, Louis Chenevert was able to grow into a successful businessman and lead United Technologies into a positive direction.
